How to combine two PDFs into one

   Choose the first file

   Click Choose PDFs or drop the document onto the page. You can also select both files at once.

   Add the second file

   Add the other PDF the same way. The list shows the name, page count and size of both files.

   Check the order

   The file at the top of the list comes first in the result. If they are the wrong way round, one click on an arrow swaps them.

   Merge and download

   Click Merge PDFs. The tool checks the page count, page sizes and text, then shows the Download PDF button.

What is copied from both files

Both files bring their page content: text, images, vector graphics and fonts. Bookmarks, form fields, attachments and digital signatures are not carried over. Merging creates a new file, so a digital signature on a contract does not cover the result. If the document needs an electronic signature, sign it after merging.

Which file should come first

The result starts with all pages of the first file, followed by all pages of the second. For a contract and an amendment the contract comes first, for an application and its attachment the application, and for a report the cover page. Change the order with the arrows before you merge.

If the pages of the two files need to alternate, for example front and back sides scanned separately, merge the files first and then put the pages in the right order with Organize PDF pages.

Two files from different sources

A common case is a document made on a computer plus a scan, such as a contract typed in a word processor and the signed page photographed with a phone. Each page keeps its own size and rotation, so A4 or Letter pages and a photo-shaped scan come through unchanged.

Turn a JPG or HEIC photo into an A4 or Letter page first with Images to PDF, and turn a sideways scan upright with Rotate PDF. A password-protected file is rejected even if it opens without a password, so remove the protection first with Unlock PDF.

Privacy

Both files are loaded only in your browser tab and never reach a server. You can combine a contract with its amendment, or test results with a referral letter, without anyone else seeing them. Nothing is left once you close the tab.
