What this tool cannot do
The tool does not crack or guess passwords. It only removes protection from a PDF you can legitimately open. Bookmarks, form fields and attachments are not carried over to the new copy.
Opening password and owner password
An opening password blocks access to the document. An owner password can merely restrict printing, copying or editing while still allowing the file to open.
The downloaded copy is permanently unprotected. Protect it again before sharing if the content is sensitive.
When unlocking will not help
A forgotten opening password cannot be recovered here. Ask the sender for the password or an accessible copy.
Unlocking also does not repair damaged content or remove a valid digital signature from its verification history.
Privacy
All processing takes place in your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded to a server, and no data remains after you close the page.
