Compress image
Is a form or website telling you the photo is too large? Shrink it here to as many KB or MB as the site allows, on a computer or phone. iPhone photos and whole batches work too.

A phone photo is easily several megabytes, but applications, online stores and all kinds of forms want far smaller files. You don't have to guess: enter the limit the site states and the tool takes care of quality and dimensions. You see each photo's size before and after. Below you'll find common limits, the difference between MB and pixels, and how to do it on your phone.
How to compress a photo to a specific size
-
1
Add your photos
Drag photos onto the page or choose them with the button, on a phone straight from your photo library. You can add many at once.
-
2
Choose the target size
Pick the limit the form or site states, such as 200 KB or 2 MB, or enter your own under Custom. The default is 1 MB per photo.
-
3
Cap the dimensions if needed
If you don't need full resolution, choose Full HD, 2K or 4K under Longest side. Save as WebP usually gives a smaller file, if the site accepts WebP.

Download the result
Each photo shows its size before and after. One photo downloads directly, several in one ZIP.
Common photo size limits
Online application and exam forms: sometimes as little as 100 KB, 50 KB or 20 KB, see Compress JPG. Many web forms: 2 MB, see Compress image to 2 MB. Google Business Profile photos: up to 5 MB, see Compress image to 5 MB. Gmail attachments: 25 MB in total, see Compress photos for email.
How to compress a photo to a specific size in KB or MB
Check how big the photo may be according to the form or site, and choose exactly that limit. The tool compresses all selected photos at once, so you don't have to try quality settings and sizes by hand. The result usually comes out a little under the limit rather than exactly on it.
Sizes here are decimal: 1 MB means 1,000,000 bytes and 100 KB means 100,000 bytes. Some sites count 1 MB as 1,048,576 bytes, which makes their limit slightly bigger, so a photo that fits here fits there too.
File size, dimensions or format: why a site rejects a photo
When a site rejects a photo, it helps to tell three things apart. File size is measured in KB or MB, and that's what this page changes. Dimensions in pixels, such as 600 × 600 px, are set with Crop image or Resize image, and the format (JPG, PNG or HEIC) with the Image converter.
A few real limits for comparison: Etsy warns that images larger than 1 MB may not finish uploading, eBay allows up to 12 MB per photo, and Discord's free upload limit has been 20 MB since August 2026. Many older guides still quote smaller Discord limits.
How to reduce photo size on iPhone and Android
On most Galaxy phones, open the photo in Gallery, tap Edit, then the three-dot menu and Resize. Pick a smaller percentage, tap Done and Save. To keep the original, choose Save copy in the three-dot menu instead. Gallery shrinks the photo's dimensions, not to a set number of KB.
On an iPhone, the Photos app doesn't change file size, but you can see the size when you swipe up on a photo. In the Preview app that came with iOS 26, tap the More button and Adjust Size to change the dimensions, or tap the Actions Menu button next to the file name, then Export, choose JPEG and drag the Size slider left for a smaller file. On a Mac, use Tools > Adjust Size in Preview.
If you need the photo under a specific limit, open this page in Safari or Chrome on your phone. Choose the photos from your library, pick the limit, and the compressed photos download straight to your phone.
