A dynamic QR code usually contains a short link to a service that redirects the user. You can change the destination later in that service without changing the printed code.

Are QR codes safe?
A QR code itself is only an image with data. The square pattern is not the dangerous part. The risk is the content it points to.
If a QR code leads to a trustworthy page, it is similar to clicking a normal link. If it leads to a fake page, it can be phishing. A scammer can, for example, place a sticker over a QR code in a public place or send one in an unexpected SMS.
Before opening an unfamiliar QR code, notice:
- whether the phone shows a known domain,
- whether the address contains a typo,
- whether the QR code is stuck over another code,
- whether the page asks for a password, payment details, or permissions that do not make sense.

How much information fits in a QR code?
Technically, the largest standard QR codes can store a lot of data. DENSO WAVE lists maximums of about 7,089 digits, 4,296 alphanumeric characters, or 2,953 bytes of binary data.
In practice, more is not always better. The more data you add, the denser the pattern becomes and the harder it can be to scan when small or poorly printed. For everyday use, it is usually better to put long content on a web page and encode a short URL.
